ILLUSTRATIONS FEES

Kathryn Rutherford creates storyline illustrations for sale by commission as well as by permission to accompany children's books, poems, short stories, texts or other works by authors. Each illustration project is unique, therefore, requires direct consultation prior to any artistic commitments or specific quotes.

If you are an author wishing to contract for illustrations, you have several options to consider. You may either purchase commissioned illustrations designed to your specifications and own these works outright with all copyrights thereof, or you may contract for illustrative services and purchase only the copyright permission to print any images created that will accompany your writing. The first option puts the original illustrative artwork and all production copyrights into your hands. The second leaves the original illustrations and production copyrights in the hands of the artist, but, allows you copyright permission to reproduce the work with your book or text according to the terms of the service and copyright specifications purchased. The choice and options are entirely up to you and the project budget.
