Fine Artist Kathryn Rutherford Honored Guest at Mama's Farmhouse VIP Grand Opening

Kathryn Rutherford of the Heirloom Art Studio was an honored guest at the recent VIP reception to celebrate the opening of Mama's Farmhouse Restaurant. The Restaurant's decor menu and home style recipes are all based on the owner’s special ancestor, “Mama”.
Owner's Bruce Johnson and daughter Kelly Wimmer commissioned Kathryn Rutherford to enhance, restore and enlarge Mama’s photographic family history to decorate the multi-room restaurant and private party barn. Included in the projects were a hand drawn family history tree, generational photographs, and an original painted portrait of Mama registered as the trademark for the restaurant.

Two original painted portraits of Mama were created artistically and mathematically by drawing on top of a duplicate 1910 photograph of Mama, aging her from her 20’s to both her 50’s and her 70’s (seen below). The trademarked Mama portrait at age 50 is displayed on preserves and merchandise sold in the restaurant gift shop.

The VIP reception attended by more than one hundred invited guests consisted of an all you can eat dinner featuring special recipe fried chicken (the best ever tasted!), country fried steak, pork, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, mushroom and brown gravy, all you could eat, all you could drink, and topped off my Mama’s own banana pudding or peach cobbler.

A good time was had by all and, although every guest left with a gift basket of preserves and Mama’s merchandise, no one left hungry.
