PHOTOGRAPHIC DUPLICATION and RESTORATION FEES

The Heirloom Art Studio is internationally known for it's high quality photographic restorations.

Owner and artisan, Kathryn Rutherford, has received many awards and honors for her outstanding ability and talent. She is one of the few restoration artists qualified to restore original photographs, knowledgeable about the history and chemical makeup of photographs and still capable of hand printing glass negatives or creating images in the darkroom on fibre base papers.

Restoration and alteration work can be done digitally, but, whether performed on the original, duplicated in the darkroom, or reproduced all images are restored using ONLY the highest archival techniques and supplies available and artwork that is of the highest caliber.

To determine an approximate cost to duplicate and/or restore a photograph, add together any or all of the three tasks listed below.

1. COPY SERVICE (Service ONLY)............................25.00

EVERY project has a one time $25.00 copy service fee that is required. This service covers the cost to
photograph an original image, produce a negative or digital file used to produce a duplicate of the image
and to record and keep on file a final restored negative. The final negative or digital file is kept at the
Studio indefinitely in the event customers wish to have additional duplicate images of their order made
at any time in the future.

2. HAND PRINTED CUSTOM PRINTS-printed on high quality satin finish colour paper or thicker, fibre
base black & white paper.
The cost of these custom, hand produced prints INCLUDES a base amount of restoration which MUST
be done during reproduction. Every original photograph has dust spots, tiny cracks and other minor
imperfections which are often invisible to the naked eye, but, that need to be removed to produce a high
quality reproduction. These custom prints include this basic, but necessary, restoration work. Without
removing this unseen damage, duplications of originals would be just an ordinary copy. We do NOT do
ordinary work.

Any additional restoration, beyond what is included in the print fee, is additionally charged under
category 3 below. Additional artwork covers visable tears, missing sections, scratches, stains, removing
objects, backgrounds or people and other such timely tasks.

3. RESTORATION
Charged by the number of hours required to complete an order.

Expect to pay $75.00 to $350.00 depending upon the size of the final finished image and severity of
visual damage or artwork changes to be made.

50% NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit MUST accompany order.
