At the 12th Sevier County Biennial Juried Exhibition, held January 21-February 26, 2005, the "Best of Show" Award was given to the original oil painting "Guardians of Headrick Chapel", by fine artist Kathryn Rutherford.

The exhibition is a juried, mixed media art show for residents of Sevier County, Tennessee, who are eighteen years of age or older. The purpose of the exhibition is to recognize the skill and talent of the artists and craftspeople living in Sevier County. The event is hosted by, and on exhibit at, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Tomi Melson, Executive Director Piedmont Craftsmen, Winston-Salem, N.C. was the single juror for the show. In her Juror's Statement she said "I was so captivated by Kathryn Rutherford's painting entitled "Guardians of Headrick Chapel, Wears Valley Tennessee", by her ability to create a provocative narrative with her technical skill, that I have awarded her an Award of Distinction.

The Award was presented at the Opening Reception Friday, January 21, 2005 by the Director of Arrowmont, David Willard

This was the fourth consecutive time Kathryn has had her paintings and/or photography juried into the Exhibition and the third time in a row she has been presented with an outstanding award or excellence.
